Math

Overview

The Common Core standards emphasize a deep understanding and application of math concepts. Your student will be applying algorithms, using manipulatives, drawing representations, working independently and in small groups, and discussing problems whole class to build their understanding and to develop proficiency at solving problems. 

6th Grade

This year, your child will learn about numerical expressions, algebraic expressions, ratios and rates, integers and the coordinate plane, equations and inequalities, statistics, and three-dimensional geometry.

7th Grade

This year, your child will learn operations with rational numbers, expressions, equations and inequalities, graphing proportional relationships, percents, geometry, and probability and statistics. 

8th Grade

This year, your child will learn equations, linear equations and functions, systems of linear equations, transformational geometry, exponents and roots, and geometry.

Algebra

This year, your child will learn equations and inequalities, linear functions and systems of linear functions, exponential functions, and polynomials and quadratic functions.
